THE Crown is back for season 5 with a brand new cast playing the British Royal family.
This means there is a new actor playing Prince William in the fifth series of the hit Netflix show.
Senan West plays Prince William in The Crown season 5 (The real Prince William seen here in 1997)
Who plays Prince William in the Crown?
The real life son of actor Dominic West, who is playing Prince Charles in The Crown, will play Prince William in the Netflix drama.
Born in 2004 Senan West was been picked after a nationwide search for a suitable youngster to play the royal.
The young actor will portray the Prince as he grows from a boy to a man.
Senan is one of four children the actor has with his wife Catherine Fitzgerald.
It is understood the youngster – who is making his debut in The Crown – auditioned for the role like other potential cast members, and submitted a tape via his agent.
The creators of the Netflix show, which returns next year, advertised for the plum role in autumn 2021.
How will Prince William feature in series 5 of The Crown?
Senan will play the Prince just as The Crown starts to grapple with one of the most difficult chapters in the Royal Family’s history.
It is a challenging role as William has to cope with seeing his parents’ marriage crumble, his mother’s ill-fated Panorama interview and her subsequent death in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
His mother, previously played by Emma Corrin, is now be played by Elizabeth Debicki.
His grandmother, the Queen, is portrayed by Imelda Staunton, who takes over the central role from Olivia Colman.
How can I watch The Crown?
The Crown season 1 to 4 are available to watch right now on Netflix.
The fifth series will drop on the streaming site at 8am on November 9m 2022.
There will be ten brand new episodes to binge watch one after the other.
