Matthew Goode returns as the multi-talented Matthew De Claremont.

In A Discovery of Witches, Matthew will try to reinhabit his life as Matthew Roydon, hos former identity the 16th century.

He has featured in films such as The Imitation Game, Match Point and Watchmen.

He is perhaps best knows for his role Anthony Armstrong Jones in the first two seasons of Netflix’s The Crown.

Teresa Palmer as Diana Bishop



Teresa Palmer will reprise her role as Diana Bishop

Teresa Palmer has returned to play Diana Bishop in A Discovery of Witches season two.

In the latest installment of the show, Diana’s new magical powers are set to take a dark turn.

Speaking about Diana’s journey in the new series, Hacksaw Ridge and Berlin Syndrome star Palmer said: “At the start of season two, we see Diana and Matthew arriving back in time on the crazy streets of Elizabethan London.

“As a historian, this is Diana’s biggest dream – to finally experience everything she’s studied is mind-blowing.”

Adelle Leonce is a new addition to the cast

Adelle is a new member of the cast and will play art historian Phoebe Taylor.

The actress is best know for playing Mary Mae in the eleventh series of Shameless, alongside the likes of Anne Marie-Duff, Rebecca Atkinson and Jack Deam.

Her most recent work came in season 22 of Silent Witness, starring as DS Lucy Vali.

Steven Cree has joined the cast to play Gallowglass De Clermont

Outlander star Steve Cree has been cast for season two as Gallowglass De Clermont, a vampire and former solider.

Speaking about the new role, Cree said: “I’ve never been in the position of joining a show that is already hugely popular, and incredibly well-received.

“I was also excited to work with Matthew and Teresa, who I think are brilliant.

“I read the first two books, which gave me a better idea of Gallowglass and what an amazing character he is, and so I was excited to get on board.”

Another new member of the cast is Victoria’s Tom Jones, who will play the role of Christopher ‘Kit’ Marlow, a poet and playwright.

Hughes said: “I’m a massive fan, and I’ve admired Teresa’s work from afar, as well as Lindsay Duncan.

“It’s an incredible ensemble, so to come into that genre and play a part as mercurial as Kit Marlowe was a real attraction.”

The legendary Sheila Hancock will star as Goody Alsop

Goody is a powerful witch that Diana meets shortly after arriving in 1590.

The pair soon form a close bond after Diana starts teaching her.

However, Goody becomes cause for concern as her health begins to deteriorate as she gets older.

When is A Discovery of Witches on Sky One and how can I watch it?

A Discovery of Witches season two will begin TONIGHT (January 8) on Sky One at 9pm.

According to director Farren Blackburn, the second season wrapped filming in late January 2020,

All 10 episodes are now available to view online, and NOWTV with Sky One also airing the episodes individually on Friday nights.
