A PLACE in the Sun buyer burst into tears after landing her dream home with a “shocking” offer.
Channel 4 host Scarlette Douglas was tasked with finding guest Maria her dream home in Malaga, Spain.
Maria, who was recently widowed, was left emotional after viewing a stunning property in the tourist spot of Viñuela.
Maria explained that she was looking to start a “new life” after her husband sadly passed away 18 months ago.
She was joined by her good pal Karon as they visited five villas, but it all got too much for her when she viewed the final property.
Maria had a budget of £250,000 and was looking for a three-bedroom property with a private pool.
The first three properties were a firm no, Maria was left disappointed with the lack of space and the “rustic” décor in property three.
The fourth property was in the running, but as soon as Maria laid eyes on the last property she was blown away.
Maria was clearly overwhelmed and her voice began to break as she described how happy she was with the final choice.
Before she broke down in tears, she said: “From what I can see now, this looks the best. Sorry!”
Property expert Scarlette reassured the guest and told her that she understood was a “big move”.
The Channel 4 host said: “It’s alright take a minute I know this is a big move for you, it’s a big step.”
“It’s just so lovely,” Maria exclaimed as she admired the living room boasting plenty of natural lighting.
The trio explored the bungalow which continued to impress Maria, with her later admitting that that is the perfect home.
She added: “Oh my God I’m moving in. Look at that pool it’s just amazing I’m gonna get upset again.
“I don’t care what bedrooms look like, I’ll sleep outside,” Maria joked.
Maria clearly had her heart set on the property which was on the market for £295,000.
She decided to put in a “cheeky” offer of £260,000 and was delighted when the offer was accepted.
Maria burst into tears and exclaimed: “I’m shocked.”
An equally stunned Scarlette added: “I’m shocked as well.”
A chuffed Maria was thrilled to find her forever home and praised the show as a “fascinating experience”.
