A Place in the Sun returns next month with glam new presenter Leah Charles-King – here’s where you’ve seen her before

A PLACE In The Celeb Report viewers will meet new arrival Leah Charles-King – who has dubbed the sun-soaked role as her “dream gig.”

The presenter told how the Channel 4 show job had been especially “life-changing” following her diagnosis with bipolar disorder.

The broadcaster has dubbed the sun-soaked role as her ‘dream gig’

Leah, who is a speaker, media trainer and producer as well as broadcasted will join A Place In The Celeb Report‘s much-loved team of Jasmine, Jean, Lee, Danni, Laura, Ben and Scarlette.

The new series will see them head off to Crete, Costa Blanca, the Algarve and many more luscious destinations in the hunt for a dream holiday property for their clients.

For Leah, this sees her assisting former teachers Carrie and Steve find their dream property in the town of Islantilla, on Spain’s Costa de la Luz.

They have a budget of £110,000 and are seeking a two-bedroom apartment as close to the beach as possible, where they hope to while away the winters.

Leah, who shows the couple a grand total of five properties, gushed: “I’m so excited to be joining the A Place in the Sun family!

“I’ve been watching the show since it began and I feel especially privileged to be working on such an iconic programme.

“Landing this dream gig has been life changing for me as nine years ago I was diagnosed with bipolar and I didn’t think I’d work in television again because of the stigma towards mental illness.

“It proves there is life after diagnosis.

“My story is one of tenacity and overcoming adversity; and A Place In The Celeb Report has given me a new hope.”

A FAMILY AFFAIR

Property hunting has been a passion of the TV star’s since a young age – and part of the family too.

They have been buying, renovating and selling properties for profit in the UK for many years.

They also own bases and land in Saint Lucia, Grenada and the Carribbean.

Leah’s music career kick-started in the 1§990s when she was a member of the band Kleshay, and has previously offered backing vocals to George Michael.

In 2001 Leah began her presenting career as the first ever Black female Continuity Presenter on CITV in its 40-year history.

Leah is also an ambassador for Bipolar UK.
