A PLACE in the Sun’s Jasmine Harman welled up after her guests made a VERY emotional declaration.
In a recent episode of the Channel 4 show, Jasmine met Pete and Sue in Cyprus.
The couple had a budget of £250,000 and told Jasmine they wanted to start a new life on the island with their puppy, Billy.
After visiting the second property, Jasmine asked: “When you first met, what was it that attracted you to each other?”
Sue replied: “We were friends for a long time. Now, I look at him and he’s just the other half of me.”
Pete was equally emotive, telling Jasmine: “Yeah, like she said we were friends for a long time. And now she’s the beat of my heart.”
Choked up by their words, Jasmine brushed at her face and told them: “You’re going to make me go now.”
She then composed herself and was able to carry on with the househunting.
The three-bedroom house in Mandria appealed to the couple straightaway, with Pete saying: “I could see myself here.”
Sue replied: “I’ve just got a connection straight away. It’s something – I can see myself here and visualise it.”
After failing to be wowed by any of the other properties, the couple decided to make an offer on the Mandria property.
On the market for £254,464, the couple offered £235,000, which was rejected.
The owner countered with an offer of just under £238,500, however Pete refused to budge, saying: “If I started to go up a little bit here a little bit there I’d be unhappy, and I want to be happy.”
Jasmine informed the owners, who then called back and accepted the offer, making the host emotional once again.
She sobbed: “I can’t speak right now!” before adding through her tears: “Congratulations, What am I like?”
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
