Actor from Iconic Horror Movie Looks Unrecognizable 25 Years On

From Horror Star to Guidance Counsellor

A star of an iconic horror movie, Michael C. Williams, who gained fame in 1999 for his role in The Blair Witch Project, looks completely different today after leaving his acting career behind. Williams, who played a fictionalized version of himself in the terrifying film, now sports a grey-bearded face and has transitioned to a more 'normal' role as a qualified guidance counsellor in a school in the States.

A Cult Classic Returns to TV Screens

For those who missed the horror classic, The Blair Witch Project will be airing on BBC One at 11:50pm, allowing viewers to relive the spine-chilling experience that had audiences rattled back in the late 90s. The film, known for its unique filming style and marketing campaign, gained notoriety for leaving some audience members sick in the cinema due to the motion sickness induced by the handheld cameras.

Controversy and Underpayment

Despite the film's massive success, Michael and his co-stars, Heather Donahue and Joshua Leonard, were each paid a mere $1,000 for their roles in the low-budget production. Reports suggest that if the actors had been compensated according to their original contract agreements, they could have earned up to $2.5 million each. However, due to Hollywood accounting practices, their total earnings were significantly lower, leaving them feeling underpaid for their contributions to the blockbuster.
