The 42-year-old actor, now 5 years sober, shared his struggles with alcohol addiction on the GRM Daily podcast Thoughts in a Culli. Walters admitted to drinking from morning till night, even substituting mouthwash to feed his addiction.
Turning Point
Walters shared that a pivotal moment came when his six-year-old daughter expressed her desire for him to seek help, leading him to enter rehab for four weeks. Since then, he has been sober and has focused on his acting career, starring in popular TV and film projects like Adolescence.
Rise to Fame and Current Projects
Initially gaining fame in the 90s with the rap group So Solid Crew, Walters transitioned to acting and has played roles in various successful projects, including his role as Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe in Adolescence, a show that explores the issue of knife crime in the UK.
