Sporty AF (Sporty and Female) to Highlight Athletes Balancing Careers and Lives
AJ Odudu has landed a brand new hosting role just weeks before the launch of the new Big Brother series. The bubbly presenter will host, Sporty AF, a new six-part digital series that celebrates the stories of our country's female Olympians. Sporty AF (Sporty and Female) will highlight athletes having honest conversations about balancing their jobs with their day-to-day lives as women. Body image, mental and physical health, menstrual cycles, and gender equality are among the debate themes.
Inspirational Line-up of Female Olympians
Across the series, Odudu is joined by Abi Burton (rugby sevens), Amber Hill (shooting), Imani-Lara Lansiquot (athletics), Katy Nicholls (cycling), Jazmin Sawyers (athletics), Kate Shortman (artistic swimming), Andrea Spendolini-Siriex (diving), Nekoda Smythe-Davis (judo), Izzy Thorpe (artistic swimming), Anna Toman (hockey), and Kimberly Woods (canoe).
Episode One: Changing The Game
The first episode, Changing The Game, will see AJ speak to bronze medalist sprinter Lansiquot. Together, the group of inspirational females will discuss the rise of women's sport, their individual careers, and what it's really like during an Olympic Games. They will talk about things like sharing rooms and encountering other famous athletes in the dining hall.
Empowering Women in Sport
In an interview, AJ Odudu expressed her honor to be in the presence of such incredible female athletes. She mentioned the success of female athletes, noting that more women than men were selected for Team GB at the last Olympics. British athlete Jasmine Sawyers also shared her excitement about the paradigm shift in women's sport and the important topics discussed in Sporty AF.
