TV GARDENER Alan Titchmarsh has revealed how savvy DIYers can save hundreds on kids’ outdoor toys.
The host detailed the efforts in an episode on Love Your Garden where the backyard of a girl with severe epilepsy was transformed.

The family were given the makeover from ITV’s Love Your Garden
As part of the makeover, Titchmarsh and his team created a den from the remains of five-year-old Isla’s siblings’ swing set.
“Katie’s (cast member) had the idea of upcycling on half of the family’s old swing and turning one half of it into a den,” he said.
“It’s really sturdy and the treated timber isn’t going to rot, it’s going to last a long time.”
The result was a deluxe wooden den and retreat space that’s can be used by the whole family.
Shaped in a tipi style, the structure was complete with a rainbow walkway and comfortable seating.
Efforts to upcycle old materials is also likely to save any DIY effort hundreds of pounds on the likes of new wood and hanging planters.
The makeover on Isla’s family’s garden prompted some viewers to be moved to tears due to its “paradise” result.
The little girl was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome as a baby which left her unable to walk, talk or see.
Her heart warming moment comes after a kind plumber who went viral after fixing boilers for OAPs free, also got a makeover.
Love Your Garden also helped a family whose 32-year-old dad had been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s.
