AMERICAN Horror Story has officially confirmed the new theme for the upcoming season, putting an end to weeks of speculation.
The new chapter in the anthology horror series, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, will be set in New York, as Murphy’s production company confirmed on social media.

“New Season. New City. New Fears,” the showrunner tweeted on Thursday – sending Twitter into a frenzy.
Alongside an array of shocked-faced emojis, one person penned: “I wonder what the new season of American Horror Story will bring? I can’t wait!”
Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Who else is pumped for the new season of American Horror story?”
While a third remarked: “American Horror Story should coincide rather nicely with Halloween. Perfect!”
Murphy also revealed when fans will be able to be equally captivated and terrified by this new season.
American Horror Story: NYC will premiere on October 19 – just in time to provide viewers with some Halloween costume inspiration.
The show’s creator also included one of the posters for the new season in his tweet.
The creepy image captures a stud-covered character flexing their muscles whilst wearing a rubber, studded mask and a pair of equally studded antlers.
As for the cast, AHS continues the series’ tradition of having a sizeable ensemble, with Murphy’s returning key players taking centre stage.
NYC will see Zachary Quinto, Sandra Bernhard and Charlie Carver among its protagonists.
Rounding out the cast are other frequent collaborators of Murphy; Joe Mantello, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Isaac Powell, Denis O’Hare and Patti LuPone.
American Horror Story is available to stream on Netflix.
