Amy Hart opens up about being scammed for £5,000

A terrifying ordeal

Amy Hart, known for her appearance on Love Island in 2019, recently revealed the harrowing experience of falling victim to a scam that cost her £5,000. The 31-year-old shared how she felt "alone" after fraudsters posing as her bank managed to steal a significant sum of money.

The scam

Recalling the moment she realized she had been scammed, Amy described receiving a call from individuals claiming to be from her bank's fraud team. Despite feeling pressured and panicked, she ended up authorizing a transaction that led to the loss of £5,000.

A message to others

Amy emphasized the importance of not feeling embarrassed if one falls victim to such scams, as the tactics used by con artists can be sophisticated and convincing. She encouraged others to speak out and raise awareness to help prevent similar incidents from happening.

Combatting scams with AI

In collaboration with O2, Amy has joined the Swerve the Scammers campaign by introducing Daisy – an AI designed to waste scammers' time by posing as a fake "granny." This initiative aims to deter fraudsters and protect potential victims from falling prey to their schemes.
