ANNA Nicole Smith was sexually abused growing up, a longtime friend claimed on tonight’s 20/20 special about the star’s life.
The late blonde bombshell’s new ABC documentary followed her tumultuous rise to fame and includes an in-depth look at her doppelganger daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, 14.
Anna Nicole was open about her humble, and sometimes difficult, upbringing before she tragically passed away at the age of 39 in 2007.
However, she never publicly discussed being a victim of sexual abuse.
Just three days before the anniversary of her sudden death, friends and family gathered on Friday’s 20/20 episode titled Tragic Beauty to honor the reality star.
Longtime friend and actor Raymond Martino alleged Anna told him she was “sexually assaulted” in her younger years.
“She told me she was sexually assaulted growing up, and I believe her,” he said looking straight at the camera.
The pair met in 1994 while filming To The Limit – which starred Anna Nicole and was written by Raymond.
After the success of their crime drama, the pair went on to collaborate on a number of future projects.
However, the filmmaker did not go into any further details about the alleged abuse.
Raymond first met the former Playboy covergirl in 1994 and stayed close until her death.
She died on February 8, 2007 – five months after the birth of her daughter and passing of her son.
The model and reality star died due to a mixed prescription drug overdose at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Her passing came following months of highly-publisized tragedy for the family.
Anna’s 20-year-old firstborn, Daniel Smith, died just three days after his sister, Dannielynn’s, birth.
His loss was also due to a drug overdose, which reportedly occurred inside Anna’s maternity hospital room in Nassau, Bahamas.
Following her passing, there was serious speculation over who fathered Dannielynn – as attorney Howard Stern, Larry Birkhead and Prince Frederick von Anhalt all claimed they were the rightful parent.
In April of 2007, a paternity test confirmed that Larry was the child’s father.
Tonight’s ABC documentary gave fans a deeper look into Anna’s lookalike little girl – who is now a teenager.
Dannielynn shares the same facial structure and even hairstyle that the model sported as a young lady.
In another side by side collage, the duo’s nose, eyebrows, and eye shape are nearly identical.
Throughout the film, friends tell Dannielynn she looks “just like” her famous mother.
