Ant and Dec booed as they make Saturday Night Takeaway announcement leaving fans devastated

ANT and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is set to end earlier than expected this year, leaving viewers devastated.

Fans were left fuming last night when presenters Ant and Dec announced the news at the end of the show.

Ant and Dec were booed last night as they announced the final epsiode of the 2022 series of Saturday Night Takeaway will air next weekend

Ant, 46, shocked viewers when he said next weekend’s episode on April 9th would be the last installment of this series.

Ant, who hosts the show with Declan Donnelly, said: “Next week is the last in the series.

“So it’s your last chance to nominate someone for the last happiest minute of the week.”

The audience began loudly booing him – and fans of the show watching at home weren’t happy.

One crestfallen fan penned on Twitter: “Nooo next week is the last in the series.”

Another wrote beside a GIF of a wailing man: “No it’s the final episode next week.”

A third wondered if she should move a very important date for it, writing: “Just realised I won’t be able to watch the last one of the series because I’m bl**dy getting married next Saturday! Little man Jet is not happy about it!”

The penultimate episode saw Alan Partridge return to screens, and Boy George appearing alongside his Culture Club bandmates to perform.

Welcomed by Ant and Dec – the songwriter revealed he would be singing their hit Karma Chameleon for a karaoke session.

It was then that Dec took the opportunity to ask what the song meant, before he was met with the brutal swipe about their other show.

“George obviously we had loads of hits to choose from – but what are you going to be singing for us tonight?” Dec asked.

“It’s a very old song called Karma Chameleon,” the singer replied, as the fans in the studio whooped and cheered from their seats.

“We love it. Karma Chameleon – and I’ve always wanted to know, what does Karma Chameleon mean?” Dec continued.

Boy George then quipped: “It means I’ll never have to say ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here’, unless you did a vegan version, then I’m in.”

Promising to see what they could do, Ant and Dec looked on as the singer sassily walked away from them to perform his hit.
