Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway fans devastated as Stephen Mulhern confirms series is coming to an end

ANT and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway fans were left devastated as Stephen Mulhern confirmed the series is coming to an end.

On Saturday’s episode, the cheeky host told viewers it was the penultimate episode of the year.

Stephen Mulhern revealed this upcoming episode will be the last

The seventh and final episode of Saturday Night Takeaway will be this Saturday, with Mo Gilligan filling in as special announcer.

Fans were devastated at the revelation, with one person saying: “@antanddec just told my 6 year old that this week is the last episode of Saturday night takeaway and she cried. You both are her favourites on tv and loves the happiest minute of the week. One day we may get chance to be on it. Hope you are both well guys”

Another added: “My 6 year old son is gutted that it’s the last Saturday night takeaway next week…..he would very much like to know, why is it not on all year round??”

A third remarked: “Brilliant end of the show show tonight! Gutted next week is the last in the series”

Ant and Dec pulled off an incredible prank last Saturday – as they roped in all of ITV’s day time channels.

Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women viewers had been left scratching their heads as the hosts of each acted oddly on Monday.

The likes of Susanna Reid, Holly Willoughby, Lorraine Kelly and Judi Love were left blurting out all manner of random words, which left many at home speculating the cheeky Geordie lads were somehow involved.

Given their history with pranks on the show it wasn’t a bad shout, in fact it was bang on the money.

Holly and Phil found the whole thing very funny

The lads settled the confusion, saying: “Now a lot of people were speculating that it might have had something to do with Saturday Night Takeaway.

“We’d like to make it very clear that those people…were absolutely right and all will be revealed later in the show.”

Viewers watched as Stephen Mulhern prompted the ITV presenters to say random phrases on pieces of card he held up behind the cameras.

Loose Women panellist Judi ran screaming in terror from a spider while her co-stars insisted a weird smell had invaded the studio.

Even Lorraine got involved with the pranks

The real weirdness began on Lorraine’s show, with the 60-year-old yelping that there was a mouse in the studio.

She also leapt out of her chair, complained of cramp and started yawning during an interview with YouTube star KSI.

It continued on This Morning, with Holly also suffering from cramp and asking chef James Martin odd questions.

And on Loose Women, things went up a gear yet again with Jane Moore catching cramp and Charlene White complaining of a foul smell.
