Ant Middleton takes brutal swipe at Celebrity SAS replacement Rudy Reyes as new series debuts

FORMER Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star Ant Middleton has taken a brutal swipe at his replacement Rudy Reyes.

The new series of the brutal Channel 4 show returned to screens last night – with former American army marine Rudy, 50, as the lead directing staff.

Former DS Ant, 41, took to Twitter with a furious rant, hitting out at Rudy in a string of messages and reposts from fans.

The reality TV star, who was fired from SAS: Who Dares wins after a series of high profile gaffes, which included a tweet about the Black Lives Matter movement – was clearly unhappy with his replacement.

“If a US Marine tried to run a Delta Force selection process, he would be laughed at and get a good old fashion kick in,” he penned.

A fan replied: “They tried to make the other guy to look like you with a wig on,” to which Ant brutally replied: “And uglier.”

SAS Who Dares Wins fans all have the same complaint about new series

“What people don’t realise is that it comes under ‘comedy’ now where before it was factual entertainment,” he continued.

“When you take the heart out of the show, it dies. RIP indeed.”

He went on to repost a snap of Rudy shared by a fan, with the caption: “When you order Ant Middleton from Wish.”

“This one always makes me chuckle, so true,” he concluded his rant.

Ant Middleton, who originally held the role of chief instructor on the Channel 4 series, was sacked in 2021.

It came after there was a social media backlash in June 2020 after Ant posted a video of violence at anti-racism protests in London.

The same month, Channel 4 set out a “new and clear commitment” to being an anti-racist organisation and said Ant’s tweet “in no way represent the views of Channel 4”.

A spokesperson for the channel said: “Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

“Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again.”

Reports also circulated that Middleton had been fired after female crew members raised concerns regarding “inappropriate comments” he had made.

Ant denied any knowledge of making such comments – but the broadcaster insisted they would never work with him again due to the questions over his “personal conduct”.

Chief Instructor Rudy Reyes made a big impression during his first appearance on SAS: Who Dares Wins in April 2022.
