Steven Moore had found a piece of needlework and bought it for £13

Steven found a piece of needlework in one shop, and while he didn’t know who the creator was, he decided to buy it for £13 as such creations were increasing in popularity.

He said: “It’s always the most interesting things which are priceless and this is a really nice Scottish artist and embroidery panel.

“Annoyingly it’s clearly had a label there, that might have been the person who’s signed it.

“But, they’re getting more and more popular and people are believing that needlework is actually an art form rather than a craft.”

Just before the auction, Angus wanted to see what Steven had bought, but didn’t look impressed when he clocked the needlework and branded it “cheap”.

He said: “Hmm.. bit surprised with this and Steven, it’s not his best needlework, I mean, it’s quite well done but it’s faded, quite small, are people really putting this sort of thing on their wall anymore?

“Of all of his items, this is the bit I’d least like to take home. Good luck Steven.”

He then told his co-star: “You seem to have bought a lot of cheap things on this one.”

But Angus was soon regretting his comments when the auction started and the price for the needlework went up and up.

The auctioneer said: “I will bid £140. An advance on £140?”

Angus was shocked and exclaimed: “What the…?”

The auctioneer continued: “An advance at £140? All out then, at £140… sold.”

Steven was just as shocked, while the show’s voice-over told viewers: ““It may be a piece of May Morris needlework.”
