The BBC has revealed the impressive lineup for their latest drama series, Riot Women, created by BAFTA-winning writer Sally Wainwright, known for Happy Valley and Gentleman Jack.

Set in West Yorkshire, Riot Women follows the journey of five women forming a punk rock band with two backing singers to compete in a local talent contest. As they craft their first song, the band discovers a powerful outlet for expressing their frustrations and desires through music.
Exploring themes of friendship and resilience
This six-part series delves into themes of friendship, resilience, and the struggle of women against social expectations. The band becomes an escape for the main characters, transforming their lives as they navigate demanding jobs and complicated family dynamics.
An ensemble cast of talented actors
Leading the cast are Joanna Scanlan as Beth and Rosalie Craig as Kitty, with Tamsin Greig, Lorraine Ashbourne, and Amelia Bullmore in supporting roles. Sue Johnston and Anne Reid also feature, along with Peter Davison, Claire Skinner, Angel Coulby, and more.
