BBC Breakfast’s presenter shake-up continued today with Dan Walker hosting alongside a new face.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, 44, introduced Kat Downes alongside him on the sofa as he continues to host the show without Sally Nugent.
Previous days have seen him present alongside Luxmy Gopal and on one episode nobody else at all.
He shared a picture of him and Kat on the sofa today writing: “Another day on the #BBCBreakfast sofa… another co-host.
“Kat Downes is in the chair today and is beautifully twinned in green with @johnwatsonsport We are with you until just after 9am.”
But some fans were left baffled by the rotating cast of hosts – and one empty chair.
One asked after his normal co-host, tweeting: “What’s happened to Sally Nugent? Nice lady this morning though well done x.”
Kat, 39, is normally seen reading the sports news on BBC Breakfast and the BBC News Channel.
She notably worked with Dan on the Olympic Breakfast shows that went out in the mornings during this year’s Tokyo Games.
It was revealed in October that Sally would be getting the sought-after job of hosting BBC Breakfast after Louise Minchin stood down.
The presenter, who would later appear on I’m A Celeb, quit the show after 20 years of presenting it.
She took up the role alongside other hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt with immediate effect.
Dan announced on Monday that he would host BBC Breakfast on his own for the first time.
Sitting alone in the studio he asked his followers: “What are you up to this morning?
“I’m a lonesome cowboy on the @bbcbreakfast sofa and am working my way through some mince pies and miniature heroes.”
