BBC BREAKFAST’s Charlie Stayt has revealed he had his hair yanked by a celebrity guest.
The broadcaster, 60, presents the flagship programme alongside Naga Munchetty.
Charlie has revealed one celebrity guest yanked his hair to check if he was wearing a wig
Speaking to The Celeb Report, Stayt said “it’s an ongoing debate” whether his hair is real or not
He’s been a regular fixture on the red sofa ever since his first appearance over 15 years ago.
Charlie, who sports a full head of hair, with noticeable greying, has regularly been accused of wearing a wig.
Speaking to The Celeb Report, Stayt said “it’s an ongoing debate” whether his hair is real or not.
One guest even went as far as to yank at his locks in a bid to put the rumours to bed once and for all.
He revealed: “It’s even been addressed by Liza Minnelli, who leaned forward and pulled my hair just to test it.”
Adding to the rumour mill, Charlie’s co-host Naga, 47, jokingly says she always tells everyone that he does wear a wig.
The pair were speaking as BBC Breakfast celebrates its 40th year on air.
The Beeb programme will air a special episode on January 17th as they mark the occasion.
Charlie embarrassingly forgot the name of one of his BBC Breakfast colleagues on The Weakest Link.
When it came to a question about someone he used to work with, Charlie drew a blank and asked for it to be repeated.
Host Romesh Ranganathan asked: “In TV the journalist and presenter who has an eponymous daytime show called Steph’s packed lunch has what surname?”
Charlie requested: “Can you repeat the question?”
After an awkward silence, Charlie then answered correctly which was McGovern, who worked on BBC Breakfast alongside him until 2019 when she moved to Channel 4.
