BBC Breakfast presenter Owain Wyn Evans has hit back at vile homophobic trolls.

The journalist has been forced to defend himself after receiving a note from a hateful viewer.

He shared a picture of the handwritten letter he received full of bile.

“You raving bloody p**f, do you ave to be so camp on TV,” the troll wrote in the note shared by Owain on Instagram.

“It puts me off my meal! Stay in bloody Wales where you belong.”

However Owain had the perfect way of dealing with the troll.

He wrote: “The vast majority of letters I get from people are so, so lovely but I still find it bizarre that people take time to scrawl stuff like this onto a notepad and send it to me.

“Hope this camp pic doesn’t put you off any meals today dahlings! (Warning, letter is hateful in nature).”

Meanwhile the presenter posted a picture of himself sitting on a drum set having a great time.

And it’s clear to see why as fans backed him up in the comment section.

He was inundated with messages of support.

One wrote: “Owain I am so sorry you got a note like that. Don’t ever stop darling man.”

A second said: “Keep doing what you’re doing, we think you’re fantastic!!”

Another added: “You are amazing.”

A fourth commented: “Don’t ever change.”

Owain was recently awarded an honorary doctorate for services to broadcasting from the University of Bolton.
