BBC Breakfast viewers have all said the same thing about Jon Kay after he interviewed Grant Shapps.
Jon has taken his place next to Sally Nugent on Breakfast after Dan Walker left the programme last week.
Today’s show saw him interview the Transport Secretary about pictures of Prime Minister Boris Johnson drinking with colleagues during lockdown.
However Mr Shapps insisted the PM was just ‘raising a glass’ to a departing colleague as he made his way to his apartment in Downing Street to work, and that it “wasn’t a party”.
But Jon was having none of it, and continued to hammer the politician about that as well as Boris’ meeting with Sue Gray ahead of her highly anticipated report into potential lockdown-breaking gatherings.
At one point he snapped: “It looks like a cover up” while at another point of the interview regarding the leaving drinks, he asked: “how is it not a lie?”

A fellow BBC Breakfast viewer agreed, writing: “John Kay IS the man. Has the lot of em squirming every time. Good on you fella. #BBCBreakfast.”
