BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty was slammed by viewers this morning over a blunder she made about King Charles III.
The presenter, 47, was hosting a special edition of the popular morning programme with Charlie Stayt in the lead up to the King’s Proclamation.

But Naga annoyed several viewers when she mistakenly referred to the monarch as Prince Charles III.
Talking to reporter John Maguire, who was outside Buckingham Palace, Naga said: “John, we have just heard from so many different generations, young to older generations, and just what the Queen meant to them and what the incoming monarch, well the monarch now, Prince Charles III, what their hopes for him are.”
Viewers were quick to call her out for the blunder on social media.
“Prince Charles III? Get a grip Naga @BBCBreakfast,” one wrote.
Another added: “Naga Munchetty, it’s KING Charles III, not Prince…”
A third pointed out: “Prince Charles the 3rd? Surely Naga you mean King Charles the 3rd?”
A fourth begged: “Please correct Naga”
Another slated both hosts, saying: “CharlieStayt and #NagaMunchetty are not really/ at all committed to the words they are spouting on @BBC Breakfast.”
It comes as some viewers criticised the BBC yesterday for choosing Naga and Charlie to present coverage around the Queen’s death.
Some felt it was inappropriate after the pair were accused of ‘mocking’ the Union Jack flag in an interview back in 2021.
One said: “BBC News have got it wrong this morning. They should not allow Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt to present this morning. They openly ridiculed the flag and by association the Queen. Disgraceful.”
Another commented: “@BBCBreakfast can Naga stop coming out with such stupid statements .. she should be taken off air.”
There were others, however, who praised Naga and Charlie’s broadcast yesterday.
One fan said: “Thank you BBC, Charlie & Naga for the special tribute for Queen Elizabeth. #BBCBreakfast What a wonderful woman she was & such a huge loss to our country.”
Another wrote: “Both Naga and Charlie are doing an excellent job in presenting the news today in this challenging time. I pray the Queen now rest in eternal peace.”
