BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood has taken to Twitter after a cheeky swipe from Dan Walker about her weather report.
Todays show saw Dan presenting alongside Sally Nugent and after going over the days headlines, they started to check in with Carol for a weather update.
Dan said: “Shall we find out what’s happening with the weather?”
Sally replied: “Yes, it was a little bit cold getting in the car this morning!”
Dan then joked: “Well, who needs Carol? There you go, Sally’s just done the weather, Carol!”
Thankfully the comment was taken in good humour by Carol, who giggled and said: “And very well, might I add!”

TIME TO WALK
BBC Breakfast fans all have same complaint about Dan Walker's latest interview
She then launched into her weather report saying: “Sally’s quite right, it is a cold start to the day – and for some of us, it is a frosty one as well.”
After Carol had finished, Dan praised her saying: “I much preferred your weather to Sally’s very short weather, Carol.
“You can tell you’re a professional!”
Carol, ever the sweetheart, said: “It was concise! It was nice and concise.”
The star then took to Twitter to share concise weather updates of her own, telling BBC Breakfast viewers: “It was cold walking into work this morning!!!”
She then added: “The weather this week seems to be stuck in a rut!”
Dan’s comments come weeks after he revealed he was leaving BBC Breakfast for a new role at Channel 5.
He will be hosting the channel’s revamped 5 News, as well as a number of other shows for the broadcaster.
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
