It comes after his usual co-host Naga Munchetty was missing from the red sofa for the second day in a row.

As Charlie and Nina took viewers through what it says in the papers, they discussed the topic of life expectancy.

One newspaper story suggested five tips that are apparently required in order for you to live longer.

One of them included seven to eight hours of sleep per night and for the person not to be on any medication.

Nina said: “You have to have not had difficulty falling asleep more than twice in the week.

“Not take medication and feel well-rested more than five days a week.

“I do not tick any of those boxes so my life expectancy is about the next three years.”

Charlie found fault with one of the tips as he replied: “But not taking any medication is not a choice if you are on medication. You have to take medication.”

As Nina agreed, Stayt asked for his co-host to call out all of the tips again before confirming he ticks all of the boxes.

Impressed, Warhurst replied: “You’re going to live a lot longer than I would Charlie.”

However, a stunned Charlie – who is almost 20 years older than Nina, chimed: “Well, I’m not sure if that’s true actually.

“I don’t think we need to go there do we? I don’t think we need to discuss.”

The pair then both agreed to quickly move on with the next part of the show.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
