Emma is also pregnant, and has shown off her lovely baby bump in figure-hugging dresses while on the show.

But taking to X – formerly Twitter – Emma revealed a more sporty look as she hit the gym.

The journalist wore black short cycling shorts and a black sports vest top which hugged her bump as she posed for a mirror selfie in between the gym equipment.

She captioned the snap: “Ladies I’d like to hear your experiences of hitting the gym during pregnancy?

“Runners too, what conflicting views, myths, advice did you hear? Do we get enough guidance on exercise during the 9 months? Filming a piece for @BBCBreakfast about this.”

Emma was immediately flooded with comments from other expectant mums or women who had exercised during a previous pregnancy.

One wrote: “The gym-a class called Pregnancy Power Up- was critical to my mental health during pregnancy. Our coach adapted everything to our particular needs (eg I had pelvic girdle pain so couldn’t do asymmetric stuff).

“I was deadlifting, bench pressing, squatting and rowing at 39 weeks!”

Another added: “I ran until 6 months pregnant with both my girls and had a straightforward labour. I did get funny looks at times but it helped deliver me two healthy girls without any complications. Helped my hormones too!”

A third tweeted: “I’m still training at 29 weeks pregnant but I don’t believe we get enough guidance as to what is safe and everyone has a difference of opinion.

“I love training and am hoping to continue it until I give birth. Would love raise awareness on this!”
