Jon reposted a tweet from a TV producer who he has worked with during his time at the broadcaster.
The original tweet, from Dominic Hirst, said: “Personal news – after 30 years I’ve decided to leave the BBC.
“Today is my final day. It’s been an amazing experience travelling the world with fantastic colleagues working on some of the biggest news stories. But time for new challenges.”
Following the news, Jon quickly responded by saying: “A brilliant producer – and lovely chap – who has been behind some of the BBC’s most important reports over many years. Congrats on a great career, Dom.”
Jon recently sported a glittering cowboy hat as he visited Eurovision this week.
The presenter couldn’t contain his excitement as he got a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Tuesday’s semi-final.
He could be seen rocking a sequin encrusted cowboy hat as he snapped selfies whilst watching the show.
Grinning at the camera, Jon posed for his followers whilst wearing a floral shirt to compliment his headgear.
In the snaps, Jon also captured images of contestants performing, surround by flashing lights and special effects.
