BBC Breakfast’s Mike Bushell smacked in the face with a ball in major mishap

MIKE Bushell had a bit of a surprise during an appearance on Celebrity Catchpoint.

The BBC Breakfast star appeared the Paddy McGuinness-hosted gameshow with his colleague, Louise Minchin.

Mike tried his best to catch the pink ball

Mike and Louise went head-to-head with Homes Under the Hammer presenting duo Martin Roberts and Lucy Alexander, where they all competed to win money for charity.

Former Strictly contestant Mike proved he can be quite nimble on his feet whilst on the dancing competition show, but would the Catchpoint balls prove too much for him?

During the first round, Louise guessed her answer right.

However, guessing the answer isn’t all there is to it on Catchpoint, as contestants have to prove their agility.

This is proven by catching a huge pink ball from the studio ceiling.

Luckily for Louise, she managed to grab the winning pink ball, avoiding the other huge blue ones falling beside it and winning the £100 prize.

The BBC Breakfast team’s second question was a memory test, and it was Mike’s turn to catch the pink ball in order to win the prize.

Unfortunately for Mike, he’d picked the wrong zone to stand in, meaning he had no choice to leap to the side in an attempt to catch the winning ball.

Whilst doing so, the star was smacked in the face by a huge oncoming ball, hitting him down to the floor.

As Mike laid on the floor, co-star Louise put her hands to her face and giggled at his tumble.

In the end, Mike and Louise managed to make it to the final, winning £700 for their chosen charities.
