BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt row LIVE on air in awkward TV moment

BBC Breakfast anchors Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty locked horns in a row over a pigeon.

It was missing homing pigeon Bob, who was found 4,000 miles away from his Guernsey home in Alabama, which was the subject of their disagreement and prompted fans to take to Twitter in amusement.

BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty rolled her eyes during an on-screen tiff with Charlie Stayt

The broadcaster gave her colleague daggers as they discussed the name of a song about pigeons

Some even quizzed if Naga and Charlie “knew they were live” as their playful spat was broadcast to the nation.

The issue in question occurred when Bob’s plight made the pair recall a popular song.

Yet they were divided on its name, with Charlie suggesting ‘Catch the pigeon’ while Naga insisted it was ‘Stop the pigeon.’

After an online search, the latter squealed in delight: “It’s stop the pigeon!

“Ah well, there were two, one says stop and one says catch – no, the song is ‘stop the pigeon, stop the pigeon, nab him jab him grab him stop the pigeon now.'”

As Charlie attempted to protest, Naga blatantly rolled her eyes in mock disgust.

Yet he was not willing to let things lie, as he asked her to “stop for a minute” to let him speak.

Naga fired back: “I’ll stop shall I?” directing the question to the staff behind the BBC cameras.

Living life on the edge, Charlie quipped: “Catch the pigeon, isn’t it?” which prompted the BBC Five Live host to retort: “Well I’ve just told you it’s stop the pigeon, what else do you want me to say?”

Naga often shows her sassy side, previously slapping down co-host Ben Thompson.

Back in May, Charlie was also the subject of another dressing down.

Fans find their banter hilarious, with one commenting on Twitter today: “BBCBreakfast do they know they’re live? Naga’s body language is hilarious

Another mused: “I never thought the keyboard on the BBC breakfast desk actually worked. Now I’ve just seen Naga use it to google catch the pigeon/stop the pigeon. #BBCBreakfast.”

One cheered: “Yes Charlie I thought it was Catch the pigeon! #bbcbreakfast.”
