BBC axes Your Home Made Perfect and Your Garden Made Perfect
The BBC has made the tough decision to cancel the beloved property show Your Home Made Perfect and its spin-off series Your Garden Made Perfect in its latest round of programming cuts.
Virtual reality technology and head-to-head designers
Your Home Made Perfect, hosted by Strictly's Angela Scanlon, ran for four series on BBC Two. The show featured two designers competing to win over families with their ideas, all while using virtual reality technology to allow homeowners to 'try before they buy' in a groundbreaking TV concept.
Controversy and viewer backlash
Last year, the show faced backlash from viewers who found certain references insensitive. One episode's repeated references to the Titanic cruise liner aired during a search operation for a missing submarine that was on a mission to visit the historic shipwreck. Despite being filmed before the submarine tragedy, viewers felt the episode should not have been broadcast.
End of the road for Your Home Made Perfect
With no plans for future series of either Your Home Made Perfect or its spin-off, fans will have to bid farewell to the beloved property show and its innovative design concepts.
ITV also makes cuts with The Beast Must Die
In addition to BBC's cancellations, ITV has announced the end of The Beast Must Die, a drama that premiered in 2021 and was initially slated for BritBox UK. Despite earlier promises of a second series, the show will not be returning.
Both cancellations come as a disappointment to fans who had enjoyed the unique storytelling and design concepts offered by these now-axed shows.
