BBC slammed over Coronation coverage as major Saturday shows forced off air

SATURDAY Kitchen fans have been left fuming after the show was pulled off air today for the Coronation.

Many were particularly unhappy because coverage of the event is being shown on both BBC One and Two.

Many channels have cleared their schedules for Coronation coverage

Saturday Kitchen Live usually airs at 10am on BBC One for an hour and a half but not be shown at all today.

One viewer fumed: “If BBC1 and BBC2 are LITERALLY going to show the same thing, why not just close one channel for the day?

“Or – here’s an idea – just show Saturday Kitchen as usual on one channel and give an option to those not interested in watching endless talking heads for hours on end.”

Another tweeted: “Why no Saturday kitchen? Why bbc one and bbc two?!! Eurgh.”

However, a special edition of the show called Coronation Kitchen Live will air tomorrow instead.

Host Matt Tebbutt will be in the studio with royal favourites Jennie Bond and Gyles Brandreth for the BBC One show.

It’s not just Saturday Kitchen Live that won’t air on the channel today – Mary Berry: Love to Cook and Football Focus have been scrapped too.

Then in the evening, game shows including Blankety Blank and Pointless Celebrities will make way for The Coronation: A Day to Remember.

Over on ITV, Oti Mabuse’s Breakfast Show and James Martin’s Saturday Morning have both been removed from the schedules.

However, the big evening entertainment shows will still air. Tipping Point, In For a Penny and Britain’s Got Talent will be on as usual tonight.
