BBC star Fred Collins suffers life-changing injury after trapping arm in horrific tractor accident

BBC farmer Fred Collins has suffered a life-changing arm injury in a horrific tractor accident.

Having only recently appeared on the Beeb’s The Farmers Country Show Down, Fred was going about his daily routine when things took a terrifying turn.

Fred Collins was seriously injured in a farm accident

He got his arm trapped underneath a tractor while changing a tyre

While changing a tyre on his tractor, the jack fell away leaving his arm trapped for a lengthy period of time.

The damage to his limb was so severe he has been told he may only have 20 per cent use of it from now on.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up by friend Julie Giles and so far has seen £2,900 of donations pour in.

The page reads: “If any of you watched the BBC One series recently you will know how the family as a unit work so hard to make that farm work.

“Times are hard for everyone but please give generously and help make things this little bit easier at this horrendous time for the family.

“We all wish [Fred] a speedy recovery and by looking at all the well wishes on social media, it shows how much Fred and his family are thought of by everyone.”

One person who donated wrote: “Get fixed and kick on… best of luck. People like you deserve a bit of support at times like this… I know only too well! Best wishes to you and your family.”

While another said: “Fight on and good luck.”
