Beloved BBC daytime show temporarily off air as presenters bid farewell to viewers

Break from the routine

A beloved BBC daytime show has been taken off the air for several weeks in a schedule shake-up, leaving viewers surprised and disappointed.

Hosts say goodbye

The popular show, Morning Live, which airs every weekday after BBC Breakfast, bid farewell to viewers as hosts Gethin Jones and Kimberley Walsh signed off their final episode for 2023.

A Christmas break

Gethin Jones, 45, explained, "That is nearly all we've got time for you today, we're having a little break for Christmas. But we'll be back with you on Tuesday, the 2nd of January for a new, longer show starting at 9:30am until 10:45am." Kimberley added, "We'll see you all soon, Merry Christmas."

New lineup and extended running time

Morning Live had previously announced its plans for an extended running time and a new presenting lineup. Helen Skelton and Michelle Ackerley will become the show's permanent hosts, taking turns alongside Gethin Jones from Monday to Wednesday. Other familiar faces like Sara Cox, Kimberley Walsh, Gaby Roslin, and Rav Wilding will also make occasional appearances. Former Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh, who missed her final show of 2023 due to stress and potential shingles, will continue to host on Thursdays.
