Ben Shephard left open-mouthed at Adele’s ‘sensational’ Vogue cover calling sexy photoshoot ‘incredible’

BEN Shephard was left open-mouthed by Adele’s “sensational” new Vogue cover ahead of her new album.

The Good Morning Britain co-host couldn’t hide his delight as he and Kate Garraway took a first look at the singer’s interview with both the American and British editions.

Ben was left in awe of Adele’s British Vogue cover

The singing sensation is set to feature in the November issues of British and American Vogue

Ben, 46, was keen to talk about the cover shoot and in-depth interview on Friday morning after the unveiling of the front covers.

The stunning shots of the singer were posted to social media on Thursday, with snippets of the Vogue interview made available to tease fans.

Grammy Award winner Adele is set to open up about her weight loss, divorce frome ex-husband Simon Konecki, and her new flame Rich Paul.

Putting the images up on the screen, co-presenter Kate, 54, kicked off the debate saying: “How fantastic does she look?”

Ben went on to gush: “Goodness me! Fabulous pictures on the front of both the UK and American editions of Vogue this morning.”

He added that the Someone Like You singer looked “really sensational” as she concluded: “She looks incredible!”

“She looks superb!” Kate replied, as the snap of Adele wearing a custom-made Vivienne Westwood Couture corset dress remained on screen.

Disecting her stunning dress, Ben started laughing as he pointed out how the gown perfectly covered Adele’s assets.

“Did you see those straps along the bottom, that sort of went up at just the right moment didn’t it,” he said of the busty corset.

“Digitally places,” Charlotte Hawkins jibed, as Kate joked of the star’s cleavage: “Well, it is early in the morning!”

“Never too early for that, Kate Garraway,” Ben hit back as he continued to gush over the cover images, which included a second American cover.

“You can see so much joy in her,” Kate concluded of the incredible snaps. “We’ve been waiting so long for this. She’s just looking sensational.”

Adele’s Vogue covers come days before the release of her new album – with its first track, Easy On Me, released on October 15.

She told the November issue of Vogue magazine that the album will explain to son Angelo, eight, why she chose to “dismantle his entire life”.

Opening up about her marriage break-up for the first time, she told the publication: “It just wasn’t right for me any more.”

The singer, 33, also admitted her split from charity boss Simon Konecki had taken a heavy toll on Angelo.

But the Londoner insisted that she “would have been miserable had I not put myself first”, and wrote Easy On Me to help her son understand.

She revealed all about her relationship turmoil, going into therapy and her stunning weight loss in an interview and photoshoot with Vogue magazine.

In it, she officially confirmed she and sports mega-agent Rich Paul are an item, and revealed she finally made peace with her estranged father before he died of cancer.

Opening up about her divorce, Adele said her life fell apart as she turned 30, admitting: “I f***ed up. It didn’t work.”

But she told how inflicting such pain on her eight-year-old son is a wound that may never heal — and how it inspired her new album.

She said: “My son has had a lot of questions. Really good questions, really innocent questions, that I just don’t have an answer for — ‘Why can’t you still live together?’

“I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness.

“It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal.”

A RELATIONSHIP GUIDE

Adele and Simon began dating in 2011 and had their son in 2012.

She was incorrectly reported to have married him in 2016 after she called him “my husband” at the Grammy Awards in 2017.

In the Vogue interview, she refused to say how long they were married before she decided to call time in 2019.

But she said: “It just wasn’t right for me any more.

“I didn’t want to end up like a lot of other people I knew. It wasn’t miserable miserable, but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first.”

Adele said the split had inspired the first song she wrote for her new album — which will hopefully be a relationship guide for Angelo.

She said: “It’s not like anyone’s having a go at me but it’s like, ‘I left the marriage’. Be kind to me as well.

“It was the first song I wrote for the album and then I didn’t write anything else for six months after because I was like, ‘OK, well, I’ve said it all’.

“That one is obviously about stuff that happened, but I wanted to put it on the album to show Angelo what I expect him to treat his partner like, whether it be a woman or a man or whatever.”

‘REQUIREMENTS ARE HIGH’

Adele told how her own expectations had since shifted, explaining that her “requirements are sky high” with a man neding to “fill a very big pair of shoes”.

Adele, who covers the November issues of British and American Vogue, said she had been in therapy to help her come to terms with it.

She revealed she went off the rails for a brief period after being gripped by anxiety: “My anxiety was so terrible. I’d forget what I had or hadn’t said to Angelo about separating.

“Obviously Simon and I never fought over him or anything like that. Angelo’s just like, ‘I don’t get it’. I don’t really get it either.

“There are rules that are made up in society of what happens and doesn’t happen in marriage and after marriage, but I’m a very complex person.

“I’ve always let him know how I’m feeling from a very young age because I felt quite frazzled as an adult. I definitely learnt a lot of tools in my therapy, but I also just go with it.

“I find the anxiety gets worse when you try and get rid of it.”

Adele and Simon had initially agreed not to talk about their break-up for Angelo’s sake.

She told Vogue: “We kept it to ourselves for a very long time. We had to take our time because there was a child involved.

“It would always be like, ‘Where’s Adele? Oh, she’s working’, or, ‘Where’s Simon? He’s in England’. I’d trust him with my life.” In the weeks after the split, Adele got drunk in nightclubs while being protected by her bodyguards.

She began partying with a new circle of celebrity friends, including actress Jennifer Lawrence. They were pictured enjoying a boozy night out at a New York gay bar.

She said: “I thought I was being carefree, but I think there was an element of being careless. Then again, I have security guards coming out my ass, so nothing ever got out. I was falling out the back door of the bar rather than falling out of the front.

“Then I remember I woke up with the worst hangover. Hangxiety, I call it. ‘Who did I talk to? What did I do?’

“It was a month of me going crazy. I don’t really do that any more.”

EASY ON ME

As music insiders had predicted, Adele’s new album documents her life around the time of her marriage split.

The first black-and-white trailer to her forthcoming single Easy On Me was released earlier this week.

Poignant footage shows the star driving a truck down a US highway to the sound of melancholic piano chords.

Belongings and musical manuscripts fly out of the window behind her in scenes which appeared to symbolise her past being left behind.

Adele’s parents Penny Adkins and Mark Evans also split when she was child.

After years of not speaking, she told how she reconciled with her father before his death in May. She said: “We actually got our peace, again contrary to reports. I played him my album just a week before he passed, over Zoom.

“One thing that definitely happened in my divorce was that it humanised my parents for me. Big time. I went to hell and back!

“And in that I found the peace to forgive him. He was ready to go and he lasted a long time with it. So thank you.”
