The new season will be set in Devon, but the location won’t be the only change-up fans can expect to the show from Death in Paradise’s concept.

DI Humphrey and his fiancee Martha Lloyd are back.

Beyond Paradise will follow Humphrey Goodman and his fiancée Martha Lloyd after their nail-biting will-they-won’t-they romance reached its emotional finale in Saint Marie in 2017

BBC viewers were delighted when Humphrey took control of his destiny and followed Martha back to London to declare his undying love for her.

And now a new adventure awaits as they arrive in Shipton Abbott, Martha’s hometown near the beautiful Devonshire coast, having left London.

But things are a bit different this time as the show’s producer Tony Jordan has shared some major changes that fans cant expect to see in the spin-off.

“It’s got the same uplifting escapism as Death in Paradise, a puzzle to work out in every episode,” Tony told Radio Times magazine.

“The way we differentiate it is, it’s not always murder, and the way we do our reveal has changed. We’ve taken the good stuff, and we’ve added to it, and made it slightly different,” The producer continued.

But the TV boss also admitted that the location of the show be different to the one in Death in Paradise as the team filmed in Devon this time.

Despite the location change, Tony revealed that the show’s setting will look “100 per cent as beautiful as Death in Paradise”.

He added: “You know what? It may rain less, because we film in the rainy season in Guadeloupe.”

The 11th series of the Death in Paradise wrapped up on February 25 earlier this year.

Beyond Paradise will air on BBC One in 2023. Classic episodes of Death in Paradise are available to watch on BBC iPlayer and on BritBox
