Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli were back on the judging panel.
Walking out on stage to face the four of them was singing magician Lewis Fuller.
Performing to Kodaline’s ‘All I Want’ Lewis treated viewers to a visual spectacle.
Following his act, he received a standing ovation from the audience and the judges – bar two.
Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden refused to stand.
Giving feedback on Lewis’ performance, the pair branded it as “cheesy” and “corny”.
Alesha said: “Well that was different, wasn’t it.
“If I’m being honest I found the whole thing a little bit corny, if that’s the word to use.”
Lewis hit back and told the 44-year-old that he was a “hopeless romantic”.
“I’m going to be honest, I agree with Alesha I did find it a huge cheese fest,” said Amanda.
“I don’t think that I would want to see more of it.”
Reacting to their comments, Britain’s Got Talent fans ripped into the judges on social media.
One said: “Very harsh judgement from Alesha. At least he tried something a bit different and wasn’t just another dance act.”
A second said: “Have Amanda and Alesha heard themselves singing, now that’s cheesy.”
“What’s wrong the judges with this singing magician guy they’ve put so much utter sh*** through before and Amanda has the cheek to say she wouldn’t want to see that again,” said a third.
While a fourth remarked: “They liked the farting guy but this was corny…”
Despite the mixed reaction, Lewis received four yeses and made it through to the next round.
