CHARLIE Brooker is gearing up for the ‘most brutal’ series of Black Mirror yet ahead of its much anticipated release.
The series is back for its sixth season on streaming giant Netflix after four years away from screens.

With a whole host of stories to tell, the show’s legendary creator Charlie Brooker has tested the limits once again including a storyline that features a dystopian rip-off of its broadcaster, Netflix.
Speaking to the RadioTimes, he confessed that if he was to have put the new episodes on any other broadcaster, Netflix’s head honchos would have swooped in with a lawsuit over the portrayal of the service.
He told the publication: “Put it this way, if we weren’t showing the series on Netflix, we would be being sued by Netflix for how it looks in terms of corporate identity.”
An A-list cast has been confirmed to head up the show ranging from Salma Hayek and Aaron Paul to Kate Mara.
Ahead of her appearance on the programme, Salma, 56, opened up to RadioTimes about the excitement of playing a fictionalised version of herself.
Salma said: “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play an interpretation of myself.
“I got to explore the concepts and clichés people have about me and be self-deprecating. It’s as if I created an alter ego where I could do the most disgusting, grotesque things that you would never do in real life… and have permission to do that.
“It’s been surreal, and I think only a mind like Charlie Brooker’s could have come up with such a concept.”
Netflix recently released a first look clip at the new series leaving fans delighted.
Alongside a short montage, the tweet read: “Joan is Awful. Loch Henry. Beyond the Sea. Mazey Day. Demon ’79.
“Five new episodes. Five new nightmares. Black Mirror S6, coming this June.”
A surprise addition to the new cast is EastEnders actor Himesh Patel.
Himesh played the role of Tamwar Masood on the BBC show for just under ten years between 2007 and 2016 before heading to the US to forge a successful career.
Black Mirror is a dystopian anthology series with each episode being its own self-contained story.
The episodes usually revolve around everyday life being infiltrated by futuristic technologies which often have grave consequences for those involved.
Before becoming a global success on Netflix, the series began on Channel 4 in 2011 where it remained for two years.
It moved to the streaming giant in 2016 where it became one of its first mega shows and received critical acclaim and attracted attention from all over the world.
