Black Narcissus viewers rage they have ‘lost 3 hours of their life’ after ‘disappointing’ finale despite shock nun death

BLACK Narcissus viewers have raged they ‘lost 3 hours of their life’ after its ‘disappointing’ finale – despite a shock nun death.

The three-part series starred Gemma Arterton as Sister Clodagh, a nun leading a group of sisters to set up a new convent and school in the Himalayan mountains.

Black Narcissus viewers were left disappointed by last night’s finale

The first two episodes saw many viewers switch off after branding the show “dull”, but some persevered in the hope that last night’s final instalment would make it all worth while.

But despite Sister Ruth finally snapping, fighting with Sister Clodagh and eventually plunging to her death from the bell tower, viewers were left deflated and annoyed by the finale.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “#BlackNarcissus Thats three hours of my life I won’t get back! Not to mention my mother’s.”

Another added: “Well that’s 3 hours of my life I’ll never get back! #BlackNarcissus must be the biggest disappointment this Christmas!”

Sister Ruth plunged to her death but it wasn’t enough to save the drama for many viewers

Many felt they had wasted three hours of their lives watching the drama

A third agreed, writing: “Just wasted 3 hours of my life watching #BlackNarcissus2020 Anyone else? What was that !?”

Viewers had hoped to see Sister Clodagh give in to her desirable thoughts for Mr. Dean (Alessandro Nivola) but the series ended with her leaving the Himalayas with the remaining nuns and telling him her real name was Catherine.

Another viewer tweeted: “#BlackNarcissus Disappointing much like 2020.”

A fellow viewer who had stuck with the drama agreed, writing: “Well that was a very disappointing 3 hours #BlackNarcissus thank god for Christmas cheese and biscuits.”

There wasn’t enough action for many viewers

The series is based on the 1939 novel by Rumer Godden, which lead to the 1947 film version starring Deborah Kerr.

While some felt the new series wasn’t a patch on the movie, others were pleased with the latest adaptation.

Black Narcissus is available on BBC iPlayer.
