FULL of cunning plans, searing comedy and outrageous cameos, the 80s sitcom Blackadder remains a firm British favourite decades later.
But where are the stars of the pseudohistorical drama now?
Rowan Atkinson
After finishing with Blackadder, Rowan Atkinson took up his iconic British silent comedy act Mr Bean.
His act was so well-received that Atkinson starred in two Mr Bean movies and earnt a spot at the Olympic games.
Atkinson is also well loved for playing spoof spy character Johnny English.
He had further big screen success with Rat Race and Love Actually.
Rowan returned to TV in 2016 to play the titular character in the ITV crime drama Maigret.

Stephen Fry
Fry, who played Melchett in Backadder, went on to become one of Britain’s most beloved figures.
Comic double act Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie continued to work together after Blackadder ran its course on A Bit of Fry & Laurie and Jeeves and Wooster.
Stephen was also the face of popular quiz show QI, as well as starring in American sitcom The Great Indoors alongside actors Joel McHale and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
Aside from comedy, Stephen is also an actor and won a Golden Globe for his lead performance in the 1997 film Wilde.
Stephen also released his a book, Mythos, which is a retelling of Greek myths.
He’s written and starred in a number of documentary series, including his Emmy-Award winnning Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive.
Stephen also broke Hollywood, starring in movies such as V for Vendetta, as well as The Hobbit franchise.
His private life hit the headlines in 2015 when he married the aspiring comedian and writer Elliott Spencer, 30 years his junior.
The actor, 63, had his prostate removed after being diagnosed in December 2017 and is still undergoing radiotherapy.
Miranda Richardson
Miranda Richardson, famous for her role as ditzy Queen Elizabeth I, went on to act in major blockbusters.
She played annoying reporter Rita Skeeter in the Harry Potter franchise and has been nominated for two Oscars in her career – Best Leading actress in Tom & Viv and Best Supporting actress in Damage.
The actress also went on to star in films including Sleepy Hollow, Chicken Run, and The Hours.
She also starred alongside Brian Cox , Winston Churchill’s wife in the biopic Churchill.
In 2018, Miranda started in ITV series Girlfriends opposite Zoe Wanamaker and Phyllis Logan.
Hugh Laurie
Laurie, known for his role as the dim-witted Prince George, has one of the most successful acting careers of the whole Blackadder cast.
After Blackadder, Hugh Laurie continued to become a household name as part of a double act with Stephen Fry.
He broke America with his role in medical drama House between 2004 and 2012, as well as his roles in 101 Dalmatians, The Man in the Iron Mask and Stuart Little.
Hugh won Golden Globes in 2006 and 2007 for his performance as Dr Gregory House.
Laurie also starred in BBC’s The Night Manager as baddie Richard Onslow Roper and US comedy Veep.
In BBC’s 2020 political drama Roadkill he plays the MP Peter Laurence who is at the centre of the scandal.
Miriam Margolyes
Aside from her role as Lady Whiteadder in Blackadder, Miriam Margolyes is best known for her role as Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter franchise.
Miriam’s other screen credits include Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet and the 1996 adaptation of James And The Giant Peach.
She has also had cameo appearances in Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple series and iconic animation, Rugrats.
The award-winning actress scooped up a Bafta for her role in Martin Scorsese’s The Age of Innocence in 1993.
She also voiced Fly in the hit movie Babe.
Her TV work includes Call The Midwife, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Trollied.
In 2013, Miriam became an Australian citizen on national Australia Day.
Tony Robinson
Tony played lovable servant Baldrick in Blackadder.
Tony Robinson starred in Channel 4 show Man Down as Daddy in 2016 and 2017.
He also played Nick Reid in Mrs Caldicot’s Cabbage Wars in 2006 and Vernon Crumley in Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather.
In 2010, he fronted a series on the National Geographic Channel called Birth of Britain.
Robinson is also a dedicated member of the Labour Party and was knighted in 2013 for public and political service.
Tim McInnerny
Tim McInnerny has done a lot since he featured in Blackadder as Lord Percy Percy and The Scarlet Pimpernel.
He’s stuck close by his co-stars, acting with Hugh Laurie in 101 Dalmatians and Rowan Atkinson in Johnny English Reborn.
The actor has also appeared in Notting Hill and Game Of Thrones.
Gabrielle Glaister
After playing Bob in Blackadder, Gabrielle went on to star as Patricia Farnham in Brookside and Debs Brownlow in Coronation Street.
She has also appeared in ITV’s Midsomer Murders.
