BOY George stunned his fans on Lorraine Kelly’s ITV talk show today as he revealed his real age.
The music icon confirmed to an ecstatic Lorraine this morning that he is releasing a film about his life, called Karma Chameleon.
For 40 years the star has made waves with his iconic music with Culture Club and last week on June 14 he celebrated turning 60 years old.
Talking about his many successful years with Lorraine, viewers at home couldn’t quite believe the star was 60.
One viewer tweeted: “WOW! really never #Happy60th @BoyGeorge.”
A second said: “No way he’s 60?”
“He’s 60??” questioned another.
“Boy George is now 60 years old *sighs, time has went by so fast since I was that 11 year old dancing and singing along to his Karma Chameleon track in my bedroom,” said another.
Lorraine also couldn’t believe his age as she sat opposite him to interview him and brought it up immediatly.
Kicking off the chat about his upcoming tour and film, Lorraine said: “We do have Boy George here. He also turned 60 last week, what is going on?”
Boy George also revealed how he spent his 60th saying he was in Ireland to film something for TV but made sure to spend some time with family and friends.
He said it was “very quiet” which he liked as “everyone was pressuring me to have a massive party which felt very inappropriate”.
Boy George said: “I actually ended up having a lovely birthday because I was surrounded by people I love and felt comfortable.”
Lorraine then asked the star if he was in his prime, to which he explained he has been able to get back to his craft of songwriting during the lockdown as he couldn’t tour.
Lorraine continues on ITV tomorrow at 9am.
