THE Chase viewers were tonight left giggling as Bradley Walsh was pranked over his ‘Fanny Chmelar’ blooper.
Loyal viewers will remember the game show host in hysterics when the name of the German downhill skier featured in a question in 2011.
Ben managed to prank host Bradley Walsh during The Chase
The star couldn’t believe what had happened
Ben had poked fun by answering a question with ‘Fanny Chmelar’
The moment went on to become one of Bradley’s famous bloopers from the show – and one player hasn’t forgotten it.
Ben, who was shown in Friday night’s episode, gave Fanny’s name as an answer to a question just to wind Bradley up.
He was asked: “The Art of Painting and The Geographer are works by which Dutch artist?”
With a straight face, Ben replied: “Fanny Chmelar.”
Taken aback, 64-year-old Bradley managed to give the correct answer of “Vermeer” before moving on.
But once the klaxon sounded, he burst into laughter and congratulated Ben for successfully winding him up.
Viewers at home were tickled by the scene, too, with many taking to Twitter to share their amusement.
One tweeted: “Fanny Chmelar … he did that for a bet .. guaranteed . #TheChase.”
Another wrote: “I was assuming he remembered the Fanny episode and was determined to get it in somewhere!”
And a third said: “No way did he just say Fanny Chmelar?!”
In 2011, Bradley went viral after bursting into a fit of laughter at the mention of Fanny’s name.
He has since spoken about it during an appearance on ITV1’s Lorraine.
“I’d love to meet her, just to apologise,” Bradley said.
“She must have had enough of it by now. The poor thing. I do apologise. I have to apologise to Fanny.
“I’m sorry Fanny. She’s a very good downhill skier by all accounts.”
