BRIAN Dowling stormed off the set of Ireland AM this morning after a heated row with co-host Simon Delaney.
The former Big Brother star was peeved when Simon didn’t enjoy the cup of tea Brian made for him.
Starting the argument when Elaine was explaining the trick to a good cuppa, Brian shocked his fellow co-stars.
Elaine said: “You don’t stir it, you don’t squish the teabag of the side because it releases all the tannins and makes it more bitter.”
Brian hit back: “Like he needs any excuse to be bitter.”
Simon didn’t take kindly to the comment and went on to berate Brian’s tea.
He said: “Well I have to say, having tasted both yours Elaine and yours Brian.
Turning to Elaine he added: “You’re right that it’s not your finest hour but it’s still a good country mile ahead of the insipid warm water that I was served by my colleague here on the left.
“Yours was consecrated Holy Water.”
Brian repeated the harsh comment: “Insipid warm water.”
The reality star didn’t leave the digs there however.
The presenters began discussing having biscuits with tea and then got distracted by having batch bread with butter alongside a cup.
The pair delighted in the thought of toast and butter with jam.
But Brian jabbed: “You mention food and these two just go on a tangent.”
Elaine joked: “Can you not tell we like our grub no?”
Brian impartially responded: “No comment.”
In a dramatic moment later on in the show before they cut to a break, Brian said: “Insipid”, and walked off set.
Simon couldn’t control his laughter.
COOKING UP TROUBLE
This comes after Elaine Crowley looked unimpressed yesterday morning as her co-host Simon Delaney made a cheeky dig about her cooking.
During the segment Tara Walker showed how to make a sticky honey pork stir fry.
Brian Dowling then turned to Simon and said: “Sorry would you do that at home?”
Simon replied: “I would, yeah absolutely.”
SOUP RECIPE
Elaine proudly said: “You know who else would do that at home? Me. I started cooking.”
Simon revealed that Elaine had recently sent him a picture of a stir fry she had made.
And the Cork native proudly announced: “I made soup from scratch yesterday.”
Brian was amazed saying: “Oh wow that’s a chore.”
But Simon couldn’t resist getting a cheeky dig in.
He said: “She opened the packet and all, threw it in.”
