She first catches Anthony’s attention. Will she follow Daphne’s path of a love match?

The actress is known for her role as Sabina Pleasance in the Amazon Prime series Alex Rider.

Shelley Conn also joins the cast as Lady Mary Sharma. She is “now newly returned to London with her daughters, she’s forced to endure the scrutiny of the ton yet again.”

Born as the Earl’s daughter, Conn plays a character who previously shocked the higher society with her own scandal by marrying a tradesman.

The new additions were announced on Twitter

The actress, 44, has appeared in the television series Silent Witness, The Deceived, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Liar.

Black Beauty and Derry Girls actor, Calam Lynch, joins the show as printer’s assistant Theo Sharpe.

Theo is a “working-class man and an intellectual who fights for the rights for all.”

Black Beauty co-star Mackenzie Foy shared her excitement for Lynch’s latest casting news. She commented, “Ahhhhhh!!! Congratulations”.

Shelley has appeared in a series of dramas including Silent Witness

Rupert Young will play newcomer Jack

Lastly, Rupert Young is teased to stir up some drama as Jack.

The ambiguous character is “the newest member of the ton with a connection to one of its most notable families.”

The actor, 42, is best known for starring in the musical Dear Evan Hanson. Young also portrayed Sir Leon in the BBC drama series Merlin. Other appearances include Doc Martin and Doctor Who.

The new announcement comes after fans were left distraught by Rege-Jean Page, who played Simon Basset, revealing he would not be in the upcoming series.

Calam will play Theo Sharpe, a hardworking printer’s assistant

With eight novels written by Julia Quinn, will our favourite Duke make a return in a later series?

In the meantime, we look forward to more Lady Whistledown announcements and the second series, which focuses on Anthony’s search for love.

Bridgerton’s first series is available to stream on Netflix now.
