BRIDERTON fans were shocked to discover that Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor is Daphne’s mum is real life.

The 25-year-old plays the lead in the popular Netflix period drama and viewers have now discovered who her famous mother is.

Phoebe secured her most prominent role to date as Daphne Bridgerton, the eldest daughter in a powerful and wealthy family, who wants to meet a man and get married.

The star’s career began back in 2009 as Siobhan Mailey on BBC’s Waterloo Road, but her mother Sally Dynevor, 57, has played Sally Metcalfe on ITV serial drama Coronation Street since 1986.

Fans took to Twitter to express their shock and awe as one penned: “I’m actually shook that Daphne in Bridgerton is Sally from Corrie’s real life DAUGHTER. #Bridgerton#coronationstreet#Netflix.”

Another gobsmacked viewer wrote: “WAIT A BLOODY MINUTE. Daphne #Bridgerton is the daughter of Sally Webster off of Corrie?”

This was followed by a third user who tweeted: “It has fully blown my mind that the girl that plays Daphne in Bridgerton is the daughter of Sally Webster from Corrie in real life ahaha #Bridgerton.”

While a fourth follower added with shocked face emojis: “daphne’s mother in real life is Corrie’s sally webster and now I can’t unsee it.”

Earlier this month Sally said she couldn’t be happier for her daughter after landing the lead role in the new Netflix series.

She told the Mirror: “I just want to say I’m very proud of Phoebe and as a family, we are so excited to see Bridgerton on Christmas Day.”
