The young monarch’s backstory is explored in the Bridgerton prequel.

Styles of late singer Prince and actor Timothee Chalamet were also influential, according to show designer Lyn Elizabeth Paolo.

She said: “Basically our pitch was that we were going to do a runway show.

“So the young King George’s costumes had several key sources of inspiration, including Timothee Chalamet, Prince and Mick Jagger.”

The highly anticipated spin-off show will be centred on the life of a young Charlotte, played by India Amarteifio.

It launches on May 4.

Former Doctor Who actor Peter joins the returning cast for the one-off Channel 4 episode at 9pm on Sunday.

They include Harry Enfield as King Charles, Richard Goulding as Prince Harry and Morgana Robinson playing Pippa Middleton.

Peter said: “I’m very pleased to be asked to appear in the Coronation special, even if I am only an apparition.

“After many years going from playing vets, to doctors, to policemen, to vicars, and then barristers, I can see I’ve now reached the ghost phase of my career.

“This is not necessarily a good sign, but it was a joy to do it.”

DECK OF A SHOCK

EAGLE-EYED fans may have noticed an unlikely cameo in ITV1’s new medical drama Malpractice last night.

And the supporting artist from Bravo reality series Below Deck, which follows a group of young people who work on yachts, caused quite a stir on the set.

A CLOSE CALL FOR GAZZA

PAUL GASCOIGNE got thousands of congratulation messages after winning Channel 4 reality series Scared Of The Dark last week.

But it’s a safe bet he didn’t respond to well-wishers like he once did to the Pope – by nearly telling him to “f*** off”.

The footballing great was training with Italian club Lazio in the Nineties.

Gazza revealed: “They said, ‘Paul there’s a phone call for you’.

“I says, ‘Tell them to f* off. I’m training’. ‘No, I think you’d better take the call’.

“I said, ‘Who the f*** is it?’ He went, ‘It’s the Pope’.

“So I picked up the phone and I went, ‘Hi, Pope. You OK?’. He says, ‘Aye, Gazza. I want to see you’.”
