BRIDGERTON’S Nicola Coughlan has revealed a nightmare wardrobe malfunction in a corset and heels that left her co-star ‘stabbed’.
The 34-year-old actress plays Penelope Featherington in the hit Netflix period drama – which could potentially run for up to eight seasons – and spoke about the role on today’s This Morning.

The role gave Nicola the chance to wear lots of stunning costumes and gowns, but it wasn’t without its mishaps.
Nicola – who also stars in hit Channel 4 comedy Derry Girls – admitted she isn’t the best at walking in heels, which caused a few problems during her first day on the Bridgerton set.
She told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby via video link: “It was evident pretty quickly on my first day that I couldn’t walk in these heels.
“So I was walking along during a scene and then all of a sudden with my corset and everything I had no sort of central strength so I completely toppled over and landed on the ground.
“I got up and was like ‘That’ll never happen again’ and it happened twice more. I fell over three times.”
She continued: “The third time I was carrying a parasol, which you know held in the wrong hands is a deadly weapon.”
Unfortunately for her co-star Claudia Jessie – who plays Eloise Bridgerton – she was on the receiving end of Nicola’s clumsiness.
She said: “I fell forward really quickly and I stabbed Claudia Jessie in the hand and it drew blood.
“That was my first day, that was Eloise, yes I stabbed her. But, she forgave me we are still friends.”
Nicola has been sharing lots of behind-the-scenes pictures and videos from filming Bridgerton since it dropped on Netflix on Christmas Day.
Last week on her 34th birthday, she revealed she had received three birthday cakes last year on set while filming the show.
