Telly viewers couldn’t believe it when they waited for the results of the exciting two-hour long first live show – only to be stunned their favourite spooky act was not making the finals.

Fans hit out after Maxwell Thorpe & Jamie Leahey made it through to the Britain’s Got Talent final after the first semi-finals tonight.

One Tweeted: “No! I liked The Witches, despite being ruined by the judges stupid jokes.”

Another fumed: “BGT is so fixed.”

A third said: “NAH. This voting is all wrong. How the **** have some of these acts gone home over the acts in the Top 3?”

Other fans were delighted with the results.

One said: “Well done to Maxwell Thorpe for getting through to the final.

“One of the best singing talents BGT has seen in years. I’d love to see him win.”

Another said: “Maxwell, deserves the show, the money and the RV performance.”

Maxwell Thorpe, a busker from Sheffield won the first semi-final after putting on a sensational performance.

Jamie Leahey took the runner-up position after the judges went to the public vote as Jamie and Junwoo achieved two votes each from the panel.

The judges are made up of music mogul Simon Cowell, pop star Alesha Dixon, comedian David Walliams and actress Amanda Holden.
