BRITAIN’S Got Talent hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly showed off a very cheeky side by aiming a savage dig at show boss Simon Cowell, after fans called him “unrecognisable”.
ITV’s mega show is set to return this Saturday night and it seems as if the lads are just warming up for some serious mickey taking.
Ant and Dec couldn’t resist making a gag at Simon’s expense
Simon shocked fans with his unrecognisable face following his weight loss
Ant, 47, and Dec, 47, couldn’t resist making a joke at the expense of BGT’s head judge – and ultimately their boss – Simon Cowell, 63.
Appearing as part of an interview with press in preparation for the launch of the new season, the team were out in force.
Introducing Amanda Holden, 52, and Alesha Dixon, 44, and the rest of the judges, Dec told the audience: “We have a new face joining the judging panel.”
To which Ant quipped in reply: “What? Simon has a new face?”
The cheeky duo were of course talking about newcomer Bruno Tonioli, 67, but fans have previously dubbed the 63-year-old media mogul “unrecognisable” following his dramatic weight loss.
Just last year Simon stunned viewers he showed off the results of his diet and lifestyle overhaul.
Appearing to have put his ageing in reverse in a new video, he fronted a clip with dazzling white teeth.
The reality TV judge has lost four stone in recent years after embarking on a health and fitness regime.
The star has admitted he used to binge on sausage rolls, burgers and jam tarts made by his personal chefs.
However, since ditching his unhealthy lifestyle after suffering a fall at his London home in 2017 he has dropped four waist sizes.
Several fans remarked on the TV star’s new look, with one tweeting: “Simon Cowell gets younger and younger each year.”
Another posted: “Holy moly, I nearly didn’t recognise him then.”
During the press conference, Simon admitted some of the filming for the new series of the ITV competition show was “chaotic”.
He also revealed that this year, there are more Golden Buzzer acts than ever before – confirming that eight acts would go straight through to the live finals.
He said: “There were more Golden Buzzers this year. We have eight.”
Usually only five acts get the coveted spot, but the head judge says the audience intervened and forced producers to come up with a new rule on the spot.
The TV personality revealed: “I don’t want to give too much away but there was one Golden Buzzer moment.
“I think in all the years, I’ve done this show because, you know, it wasn’t really supposed to happen because we run out [of buzzers].”
“It was kind of chaotic at this moment because the audience really dictated it, they did not let this go [for this act]. They’re not going to leave.
“So we kind of said you know what, why don’t we just give the audience a Golden Buzzer.”
