BRITAIN’S Top Takeaways fans were left panicking as they spotted a terrifying title blunder.
The brand new BBC Two series hit our screens last night.
The programme sees presenters Sara Cox and Darren Harriott host a competition to see who has the best takeaway in Britain.
Monday evening’s instalment saw five of the UK’s top fish and chip shops battle it out in the “ultimate fry-off”.
Many took to Twitter to commentate as they watched at home, but the show’s hashtag on the social media platform sent some into a frenzy.
The hashtag read out “britainstoptakeaways” with no apostrophe or capital letters.

One worried Brit wrote: “Bro, anyone else think Britain wanted to STOP TAKEAWAYS?!”
Another questioned: “Britain’s top takeaways or britain…stop takeaways… #britainstoptakeaways.”
A third joked: “Hey, has anyone done the Britain Stop Takeaways gag yet? #britainstoptakeaways.”
Meanwhile a fourth pointed out: “Please can we learn to capitalise our hashtags. I am so tired of this. #britainstoptakeaways vs #BrtiainsTopTakeaways.”
Hugh and William from Glasgow, Strad and Gina from Leicestershire Huddersfield-based Adam and Amber took part in the competition last night.
They were also joined by Cardiff business partners Mia and Hamed, and Vic and Bonny from Cheltenham.
The handful of contestants were judged by takeaway-lovers and guest judges Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club.
They ate, rated and scored the fish and chips.
