The former couple dated from 1998-2002

Britney took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a snap of a large cat cuddled next someone as they lounged on a cat.

The Toxic singer was clearly impressed by the size of the pet, as she captioned the post: “As JT would say … haters gonna say it’s fake !!!!! I MEAN … wow I have no idea … what do you guys think
?
???? I’ve always liked small kittens … although big cats are extremely smart they always sort of scared me
?

?

?
!!!!!!”

The lyric is from Justin’s 2018 song Filthy.

‘HERE FOR IT!’

Many fans were shocked that Britney quoted Justin, 40, in the post, as one fan commented: “Did you just quote your ex?? Im here for it!”

Another wrote: “JT??? JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE!??
?

A third added: “As in WHO would say?”

Justin and Britney famously dated from 1998-2002.

TEAM BRITNEY

While some fans fondly remember their romance, others believe Justin made Britney into the “villain” of their break-up.

Shortly after they split, Britney headed in a downward spiral that included drug use accusations and hospitalizations.

Following the release of the Framing Britney Spears doc, fans come down on Justin for how he spoke about his ex-girlfriend after their split.

After receiving backlash from fans, Justin apologized to both Britney and Janet Jackson for “contributing to the problem of misogyny.”

“I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefitted from a system that condones misogyny and racism,” he wrote.

“I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed,” the singer added.

JUSTIN SHOWS SUPPORT FOR BRITNEY

Justin continued to share his thoughts on his famous ex after she made her first appearance in court amid her conservatorship battle in June.

Following Britney’s appearance in court, Justin took to Twitter to show support for his ex.

He wrote: “After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time.

“Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right.

“No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body.”

Justin continued: “No one should EVER be held against their will… or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for.”

FANS SLAM JUSTIN

However, some fans slammed the Cry Me a River singer and accused him of being insincere with the statement.

One upset fan wrote: “F**k you, justin. Britney doesn’t need your support. One more time: f**k you!”

Another added: “Took you this long to say the right thing? Waiters, bartenders, hotel staff, film staff, dancers, singers, & tour crew have horror stories about the way you treat people and think you’re above them.

“Maybe try rehabbing your own kindness. Britney’s got an army. You can sit down.”
