The hit soap had some iconic story lines before it came to an end in November 2003 – including the incestuous love affair between brother and sister Nat and Georgia Simpson.
Mark Moraghan, who played the role of Greg Shadwick in the hit show, shared the photo as he posed alongside his co-stars.
“On set with old chums,” he wrote, while posing with members of the cast, including Ricky Tomlinson and Louis Emerick.
Fans were delighted to see them all posing together in several snaps, with one person writing: “Top talent,” another person said: “This is so great. Lovely photos.”
Another Brookside fan asked asked what show they were filming for, to which Mark replied that they were actually making a film.
It’s been quite some time since the Brookside cast were on our screens, and much has happened since.
The show featured iconic names including Anna Friel, Jennifer Ellison, Ray Quinn and Dean Sullivan, who was the longest serving cast member.
The reunion comes just a couple of months after the news that Brookside star James Caroll has died.
The actor and entertainer was best known for playing Brian ‘Bumper’ Humphreys on the Channel 4 soap between 1988 and 1991.
He also appeared as Mary Taylor’s friend Colin in Coronation Street earlier this year.
It’s thought that James, who lived in Preston, Lancashire, died suddenly.
He had previously been poorly with pneumonia in early 2020, but made a full recovery.
However, he lived with a terminal condition that meant arteries in his brain could rupture at any time.
